Crypton Future Media, INC. and Gallery Nucleus present “Hatsune Miku Dreams of Electric Sheep,” an art exhibit with outstanding artworks paying homage to the beloved cyber- celebrity and her world!

To celebrate this wonderful event with your love for Hatsune Miku, Crypton is accepting online submissions from fans across the globe who wish to express their creativity and to be featured in this exciting exhibition at Gallery Nucleus. Selected submissions will also be printed in a limited exhibition catalog!

You are FREE to submit as many pieces as you like.

Exhibition Title: Hatsune Miku Dreams of Electric Sheep

Dates: From July 2 (Thu) - July 19 (Sun), 2015

Exhibition Venue: Gallery Nucleus 210 East Main Street Alhambra, CA 91801

Open Hours: Tuesday - Sunday: 12:00 PM - 8:00 PM (Entrance Free)


All submissions must comply with the following...

  • No use of any third party intellectual property
  • No copying of other fan art, character interpretations or styles
  • No cross overs or character mergers, especially not with characters from beyond the Crypton family (PIAPRO characters only)
  • No text or images that may be considered offensive or controversial to others in any manner
  • No use of profanity, hate or vulgar language
  • No use of explicit or sexual language or graphics
  • No images or references of illegal drugs
  • No business advertising
  • Do not change the gender of the characters.
  • Do not change the characters hair or eye color.
  • Characters do not have to stay on model and do not have to be in an anime style. Hatsune Miku and Piapro characters are open to interpretation.
  • Feel free to take liberties with the style, costume and appearance of Hatsune Miku and the Piapro characters. (Just remember: It’s your vision of these characters but people should still be able to somehow recognize them.)
  • Do not use any costume designs that are created by other third parties (these designs are under copyright subject to specific creators). You can use the original costumes of Miku and the other Piapro characters (as on the software package by Crypton at initial release) OR create your own, independent design for costumes!
  • Theme: Submission must pay homage to Hatsune Miku, to any other PIAPRO characters, or both
  • Originality: Submission must be created from the imagination of the contributor and must not infringe on the intellectual property of any other individual or entity.
  • Medium & Dimensions: Submissions can be digital or any traditional art medium. The work can be 2D or 3D, but must not exceed the dimensions of 24" x 36" framed and should be no smaller than 11” x 17” after being framed.
  • Do not send physical artwork until your submission via email has been accepted for inclusion in the exhibition and you have been contacted.
  • Once accepted, all original media artwork submitted must be available for sale. All digital submissions will need to be printed out, signed, framed, and available for sale. All accepted submissions will be featured in the limited exhibition catalog. Some submissions may be selected as a Nucleus event exclusive print. Artists whose works are selected for Nucleus prints will be contacted by Nucleus directly with further details.
  • The submission is open to those who are at least 18 (eighteen) years of age.
  • Strictly adhere to the Submission Guidelines to be eligible.

For consideration to be included in our physical exhibition on display at Nucleus and opening July 2, 2015 as well as the printed exhibition catalog:

Please submit images via email in accordance to instructions above no later than May 2, 2015 at Noon (PST).

The final selected artists/submissions will be notified by email no later than May 15, 2015. High-resolution files will be requested upon notification and an official gallery / catalog agreement will be sent to the artist. All selected submissions must be available for sale and shippable (or hand-deliverable) to arrive at Nucleus by June 20, 2015.

*Final selected submissions must be hand-signed, framed, ready to hang and shipped securely with tape on the glass face (in case of breakage) and two layers of bubble wrap. Artists are in charge of shipping their work to the gallery. Damages due to shipping will be the responsibility of the artist. In the case that the artwork does not sell, the artist will be responsible for the shipping cost to have the artwork returned.
